Girls Night Out

It's been a while since B and I did something, just the two of us, so I suggested to her we have a girls night out. She was thrilled and jumped at the suggestion of going to the Children's museum. So on Friday, I picked her up early and we were off.

When she was about two we had a years pass that we used quite often. So many of the exhibits were the same. I was surprised how much she remembered and went straight for her favorite; the market and deli section. Here she is going shopping...

Then cooking up a storm in the kitchen...

She had similar fun in the doctors office, the construction zone and the water area.

B had a blast. I didn't do much. Kind of wish i would have remembered my knitting. Made me a tad sad though. When she was young I was there to help out with everything. Now that she's almost five she handled everything by herself. I just watched, offer encouragement and applause when needed. Funny how my role has changed...funny how I still become exhausted with our outings. shooooot. I guess momma is getting older too!

Memorial Day Weekend

Happy Memorial day for all those who served or have served in our armed forces!

We spent this weekend hanging out, going to a BBQ and playing with permanent dye. Yup, the TieDye kit I bought C for his birthday in February finally came out of the closet and was utilized.

We folded...

We gave the kids gloves, smocks and dye...

And this is was the result...

The unveiling was awesome.

We will definitely do this again! It was such a blast and the kids had to wear their shirts as soon as they came out of the dryer.

When B does better than V

Over the past two years B has developed a very nasty habit by watching mom. No matter how much I tried to correct both our situations, she ended up a nail bitter. I know...the guilt was overwhelming. But this past weekend I noticed something white protruding from her fingers.

"Could it be?" I asked myself. And imagine my relief when I did see that her fingernails were growing. Somehow B had stopped the one bad habit mom hasn't been able to.

I was so excited I proclaimed that the prettiest nail polish in the land MUST be bought for these wonderful, beautiful nails.

B feels like such a big girl now. She couldn't stop staring at her fingers and toes and had to show everyone the lovely shade of pink polish. Perhaps she is a tad young to be introduced to the world of nail care...but I don't care. I am so unbelievably relieved and happy that she kicked the habit of nail bitting!
